Microlearning is the process of taking a lesson and divided into concentrated mini lessons.
For example:
A lesson on classifying organisms based on their similar characteristics could be broken down to 4 mini lessons.
Minilesson1: prokaryotic vs. eukaryotic
Minilesson2: Unicellular vs. multicellular
minilesson3: autotrophic vs. heterotrophic
Minilesson4: sexual vs. asexual
The purpose of the concentrated lessons are to give the students an opportunity to focus on small chunks of information at a time, so they are not overwhelmed/ overloaded with information to assimilate.
